April 2008 North Island and Nelson Storm
Many parts of the North Island, plus Tasman-Nelson, experienced electrical storms, heavy rain, flooding, slips and high winds. The 'Mangatepopo Tradgedy' occurred, in which seven people drowned and one person was injured in Tongariro National Park. During a hunt near Dargaville, lightning killed one man and injured five others.
March 2008 New Zealand Storm
Heavy rain, flooding, high seas and slips were experienced in various parts of New Zealand. The weather contributed to a number of traffic accidents, one in which two people were killed and one injured in the Manawatu. Two people received minor injureies after a yacht capsized in Northland.

A storm brought heavy rain, flooding, high winds and high seas to Northland, Auckland and the Coromandel. Weather-related road accidents saw five people injured in Dome Valley, Auckland, and one person killed in the Waikato.

The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Funa brought high winds and heavy rain to the North Island, particularly the lower North Island, and also the northern South Island. Power cuts occurred and the combination of gales and high temperatures caused multiple scrub fires in the lower North Island.

Extreme rainfall around the Tararua Range brought flooding to Manawatu-Wanganui and Wellington, around Horowhenua and the Kapiti Coast. People were evacuated and damage was caused to farmland and roads.

February 2007 Northland Storm
Northland, particularly the Far North, experienced thunderstorms, heavy rain, flooding, slips, and high winds. Residents and tourists were isolated on the Far North peninsula when a bridge was damaged. A sailor on a ship off the coast of Northland was injured by a gust of wind. Flooding and slips also occurred in the western Waikato and there were rough seas in Auckland.

Heavy rain, flooding and landslides occurred in many parts of the North Island, along with high winds in the upper North Island. Roads were closed and some residents near Wanganui were isolated. Heavy rain and surface flooding also occurred in Christchurch.
June 2006 New Zealand Snow and High Winds
The South Island was affected by snow and heavy rain while high winds battered the North Island. Snow fell in Canterbury overnight on the 11th June and lay for about two weeks, causing damage and loss of power and business. Flooding caused evacuations on the West Coast, and a tornado occurred in Greymouth. A man was drowned after being swept of a vessel near Wellington and one person was injured in a car accident in Northland.

High winds, heavy rain flooding and high seas were experienced in the upper North Island and Wellington, causing power cuts and road accidents. A truck driver was seriously injured on an Auckland motorway.

Heavy rain, hail and strong winds were experienced in the upper and eastern North Island, causing flooding and crop damage in some places. The worst affected regions were Northland, Gisborne and Hawke's Bay.

Two men were drowned off Northland when their boat sank in rough weather, and a woman was drowned in a Wairarapa stream. A West Coast man was struck by lightning and four people were injured by an avalanche in Otago.

Ex-tropical Cyclone Ivy brought high rainfall, flooding and high winds to much of the North Island. Flooding in Waikato rivers caused evacuations and extensive damage to roads and property. In Auckland, high winds caused power cuts and sank boats.
