November 1992 Otago Hail Storm ( 1992-11-23 )
Roxburgh area was hit by rain and a hail storm causing damage to fruit crops of up to $3M.

Coal Creek
Cloud built up to the west of Coal Creek. About an hour before the storm struck, there was a large black cloud with lightning and thunder.
The hail strom damaged stone fruit and berry crops.
The hail size was decribed as large.
Hailstorm occurred between 7.30-8.15pm on the 23rd.
The hail affected several orchards.
Damage to fruit crops was estimated at $1,000,000 ($1,464,000 2009 dollars).
Heavy Rain
at
Central Otago
8.0cm of heavy rain was recorded over 45 minutes.
Flooding
Flooding caused problems in the Roxburgh area.
Multi Hazard
Orchards were runied by hail and rain.
It was estimated that the total loss of fruit production over $3,000,000 ($4,392,000 (2009 dollars).
There was $2,500,000 ($3,660,000 2009 dollars) damage done to athe apple crop alone.
