CauseHeavy rain was caused by two low centres moving steadily northeast over the country to straddle the North Island.

South Island

CommentHeavy rainfall occurred along Marlborough coast, throughout Canterbury and coastal Otago.

Physical CharacteristicThere were rainfalls of up to 7-10 cm at many locations.

Comments:

CauseThe storm on the 13th was caused by two low centres moved steadily northeast over the country and there was a very strong southeasterly flow around the southwestern side of these lows.

ImpactWeather related vehicle accidents caused emergency services in Wellington to be stretched but there were only minor injuries reported.
