Insurance industry payouts for property damage and crop loss totalled $10,800,000 in 1994 ($15,622,000 2010 dollars).

In the Ngatarawa area atleast $675,000 ($976,400 2010 dollars) worth of grapes were destroyed by the hail.
It was estimated that 60 hectares of vineyards had lost their crops, which was the equivalent to 450 tonnes of grapes.
