During this period was a deep slow-moving low in the North Tasman Sea, and persistent high pressure over and to the south of the South Island. There were several outbreaks of very heavy rain in the north of the North Island with some areas experiencing significant flooding, especially parts of Northland.
Insurance claims totalled $44.19 million.
