There was flooding in the Otorohanga area of Waikato and in the Ohura River.

CommentThere are heavy floods in the Otorohanga and Upper Waikato districts on the 22nd.

Affected LifelineMuch damage was done especially to the Porotarao tunnel, the floor of which was four feet (1.22 m) under water. The retaining wall at the north end collapsed.

DamageMuch damage was done to roads and public works in the King Country.

Affected LifelineThe hills which are papa rock slipped and covered roads with earth, trees and debris.
