Heavy rain caused flooding in Hawke's Bay. A six year old boy was electrocuted when he came into contact with a high-voltage wire which was brought down in the storm in New Plymouth.

Affected LifelineA number of roads were blocked by flooded rivers.

Stock DamageStock losses were fairly heavy and in some instances individual farmers lost lots of 200 and 300. The number totalled a thousand or so.
