There were 128 people from Pounawea, Newhaven and Tahakopa evacuated.
A recovery manager was appointed.
Road damage was estimated at $2,500,000 ($3,721,000 2009 dollars).
Farm damage cost $766,695 ($1,141,000 2009 dollars) to repair.
It was the worst flood in the area since 1980.
Owaka sewerage system at Pounawea failed.

A woman was injured while moving stock at Tuapeka. She received a broken leg.
