Kensington district residents suffered the worst of the flood, water entered the ground floor of several houses on Wain Street and on King Edward Road a small block of shops was isolated by water during the morning. Flooding in this area was due to the overloading of the Wilkie Road sump. The sump burst and gushed to height of 5 ft in the early morning
In the suburb of Tainui some residents were cut off from homes and many basements were flooded
In the suburb of Maia a large portion of the bank above the railway line was in danager of slipping and as a result the train was delayed
Water subsided with no serious damage
At approximately 4:30pm on the 7th an immense slip came down on one farmers house and outbuildings. Nearly all was wrecked
Waipori recorded 2.35 in (6 cm) of rain in 24 hours
Waipori River was flooded
The water level of Lake Waipori at Berwick was very high
Tairei river rose 13 ft (4 m) above normal on the morning of the 7th Outram Bridge
On the 7th the railway line was submerged and traffic was stopped

Taieri River at Middlemarch was 4 ft (1.22m) above normal early on the 7th

Lawrence experienced very severe flooding. Wetherstones Creek washed away its banks and inundated the main street depth up to 6 ft (1.83m) and some shops goods were washed off countertops

Ross Place (the business portion of town) was inundated to a depth of 3-6 ft (0.9-1.8m)
In a 300 yard stretch along Ross Place the volume of water scoured or destroyed everything it touched

One large building was undermined by water and became unstable
